#2. All The Cool Kids Are Quitting Facebook ..Wow !

Jenna Wortham

“All the cool kids are Quitting Facebook” is an article written by the reporter from New York Times, Jenna Wortham that exposed about how Facebook continued to grown drastically since it first released on net. But one thing that really weird is that the percentage of Facebook’s users that quitting from Facebook is increasing in number nowadays. No doubt that Facebook is something so familiar to every ear of the people living in this whole wide world. This well-established social network used to be one of the most popular and addictive site compared to other social networks. This trend of having Facebook  account which is called “cool” among the people in every level of ages now is changing to the trend of quitting Facebook which is considered cooler. The question mark that lingers in my mind right now is why Facebook was so acceptable at the first place and now it is getting ignored by most of the people around the world.

Well for me, Facebook is a good tool of two way communication when I first registered for it last four years where at that time I was still in high school. I can’t deny the fact that I got into this virtual Facebook world because I felt that I need to follow the newest trend of “facebooking” among teenagers.

Do you have loved ones that live far away? Facebook helps you to stay connected but it also allows you to share your pictures with them of recent family vacations and other things. For grandparents and aunts and uncles, facebook provides a great outlet where they can see their grandkids and nieces and nephews grow up. However, another interesting fact that I willing to share with all of you which actually I am one of those so called “cool” kids as I do not own any facebook account anymore for almost one year time. Why did I deactivate the account? Surely there are tons of reasons behind it. One of the reasons is that I felt unsafe when I was using my facebook account. All the privacy becomes something public and this is so wrong for me.

From my viewpoint, this article wants to make people realised that Facebook is not everything and it is just a social networking site that actually can decreases the trust of people towards each other in some way. Yes it is true that by facebooking you can interacts with your friends, but remember that it is actually creating a virtual life for you that might make you forget about the real world you are living in.

Honestly I fully support Wortham’s article about the changes numbers of Facebook followers as it can make people realised the real phenomenon happening among internet users in this era. Plus, people should know that they should appreciate the life given by God and they should live it to the fullest and not wasting it on the matter of “facebooking”. We should never let go of our strong bonds relationship in life with our friends or family just because of the name of “Facebook”.

In short, I can say that Facebook is not a bad either a good thing to be seen as .It’s actually depends on ones to benefits it or to get disasters from it. We should think critically on every aspect before we involved in anything or even in any virtual world. Hope with the falling numbers of the Facebook account users it will brings more happiness and new environments for them. If there is a better luck, may the society will not experienced any cons from Facebook site anymore. Quitting or continuing is located just on the tips of your fingers, so just make a good choice.

Facebook is closed? Do you think this may happens someday? No one knows :)

#1. The Degree of Happiness :)

The article “The Degree of Happiness” written by Betrand Russell which is a British philosopher, mathematician and Nobel laureate has made me realised several things that I never noticed about the word “happy” before. In his article, he exposed on how ones can be so much happy after they achieved something they aimed for after they put tones of efforts on achieving that particular goal. One essential standard for living is being able to be happy. Happiness can be found in many different forms. Plus, happiness in an each of us living in this world is not exactly the same as ones happiness comes from one’s self. From my opinion, either you are a rich or a poor person, this will not be a main reason to calculate the level of happiness you are experiencing in your presents. Even though many of us think that prosperity and popularity are the keys of happiness, but no doubt that this thought might not be as true as it seen as the true happiness actually only based on physical vigor of an individual.

One thing that really attracts my attention about this article is the two pictures shown on the page of the article. The first picture showed an ordinary farmer enjoying the result of his exhausting hard-work which is the fruit harvested by him. The second picture showed an image of a genius, Friederich Nietzsche, who suffered of a mental breakdown that leads to his dead after he had sacrificed many years digging deep thought. What I can comment on these pictures is Betrand Russell tried to tell us that even though we do not achieved the highest or greatest thing in life, but only with the little results or reasons to be happy ,these surely will give a positive impact in ourselves , or at least a smile on once face. For someone to be happy they need to know that everything that has happened in their past has happened for a reason and that it has happened in order for them to become a better person. Not only does it make them a better person but it also makes them realized how good they have it or can possibly have it. Although things might be hard to deal with at the moment, people need to realized that they will be able to learn from their experiences and that they will learn to take the good from them all.

If the men of science can find more effective ways to find happiness in their life even some of their experiment or formula are not acceptable by the society, why don’t you? Have you ever questions yourself how do you live in this universe without any laughter or sense of happiness? For me, I can’t even dare to imagine about it as it surely will be such a miserable thing ever.

From my viewpoint, the hard times will help people strive for happiness. Happiness isn't free. You have to earn it and work to keep it. The price for happiness is having to suffer and having to question events that occur during one's life. People need to be able to adapt to their surroundings so that they can get the best out of them.

All in all, Happiness may come and go like the seasons but in the end, every moment that you have that is filled with happiness will be well worth the sad or unnerving ones that you have had to endure. So smile always people :)

P/s: Here I’m leaving you all the readers of this entry with two quotes that I admired the most from Betrand Russell.

~ ~“Men, who are unhappy, like men who sleep badly, are always proud of the fact.”~ ~

Can you smile for me? Because all of you are beautiful..Be Happy..Say cheese :D
~ ~“To be without some of the things you want is an indispensable part of happiness.”~ ~
